In Nairobi there are an estimated 60,000 children living on the streets.

Their story needs to be told.

You can help.

We’ve made a documentary about how they are rescued.

It is estimated that there are more than 60,000 children who live on the streets of Nairobi. While boys often survive on collecting garbage, girls are often forced to resort to prostitution in order to get clothes or food. The children’s rights are violated constantly as they are often harassed and exploited and there is a growing dependence on drug taking and trafficking. This effectively locks the children into their predicament.

This project will make a documentary of some of the stories of these children, as we follow a faith-based charity called Children of Hope (Tumaini Kwa Watoto in Swahili) tackling this issue. We want give a voice to some of these children in Nairobi, through the different forms of media that we as a media team can bring: video, photography, writing, drawing and audio recordings.
